New Releases for 2009
OWL: Информация для тех, кого уже сейчас интересуют грядущие прог-релизы. В общем, короткий список групп, чьи новые диски ожидаются к выходу в 2009 году. Blind Ego, Credo, Cryptic Vision, Galahad, IQ (“Frequency”), Karnataka (“The Gathering Light”, весна-лето), K 2 (рабочее название “Black Garden)), Mangrove (“Beyond Reality”), Manning ("Number Ten", февраль), Metamorphosis (“Dark”, весна), Mindfields, OSI (весна; музыканты - Kevin Moore, Jim Matheos plus PT drummer Gavin Harrison, a guest appearance by Mikael Åkerfeldt from Opeth), Queensryche (“'American Soldier”, весна), Satellite (“Nostalgia”, март), SBB (“Iron Curtain”, конец января), Shadowland, Silhouette (“Moods”), Solstice, Tinyfish, Touchstone and many, many more… Pure Reason Revolution (“Amor Vincit Omnia”, март), Steve Thorne (“Into The Ether”, апрель), ACT ("5th"), Cross (The Thrill of Nothingness”), Dream Theater, Iluzjon - поляки (“Silent Andromeda”), Leap Day (ex-members of Flamborough Head, King Eider, Nice Beavier), Magnum, Mr. So & So. THE GATHERING will release their next studio album in April 2009, called "The West Pole". This band have found a new female vocalist (replacement for Anneke van Giersbergen) and will have two female guest singers on the CD. The album, containing 9 tracks, is produced by René Rutten and will be released on their own Psychonaut Records label. The new PENDRAGON DVD will be called "Concerto Maximo" and should be released during the early months of 2009. The total running time of the DVD is approximately three hours. The main feature was recorded last year, live in Katowice, on their 30th Anniversary Tour. Artwork has been done by Killustration and is based on the Pure concept. Daedalus (“The Never Ending Illusion”), Glacier (“Ashes For The Monarch”), Phideaux (“Number Seven”), Umphrey’s Mc Gee (“The Bottom Half”).

San Sanich: Darwin's Radio - Template For A Generation 2009 Neo Progressive England Offisial WebSite Das fantastische neue Studioalbum der britischen Neo-Progger // Darwin's Radio are a 4 piece band from the South of England. Formed when former Grey Lady Down members Mark Westworth and Sean Spear joined forces with Declan Burke of The Spirit of Rush (the highly successful Rush tribute group). Tim Churchman (also from TSoR)completes the line-up on drums. Whilst clearly absorbing influences from old school progressive rock acts like Rush and Genesis and from more contemporary exponents of the art such as Dream Theater, Porcupine Tree and Muse, Darwin’s Radio are something very different - a modern progressive rock band with great harmonies, strong melodies and just a touch of jazz. The band's first release was the three-track EP Pictures in 2003 followed in 2006 by their first full album Eyes of the World. Recorded at The Enid’s studio in Northampton Eyes of the World is an album of musical landscapes that is exactly what the band wanted to write; free from compromise. Not quite neo-prog and not exactly prog-rock, the music rides a precarious balance between genres, and on that tightrope they create a brand of rock where melody, feel and flow form the foundation and their musical passion bring these songs to life. Through warm and inviting melodies and carefully crafted and personal lyrics these songs come alive with moving musical crescendos and dynamic performances. Track Listing: 1.
