New Releases for 2009
OWL: Информация для тех, кого уже сейчас интересуют грядущие прог-релизы. В общем, короткий список групп, чьи новые диски ожидаются к выходу в 2009 году. Blind Ego, Credo, Cryptic Vision, Galahad, IQ (“Frequency”), Karnataka (“The Gathering Light”, весна-лето), K 2 (рабочее название “Black Garden)), Mangrove (“Beyond Reality”), Manning ("Number Ten", февраль), Metamorphosis (“Dark”, весна), Mindfields, OSI (весна; музыканты - Kevin Moore, Jim Matheos plus PT drummer Gavin Harrison, a guest appearance by Mikael Åkerfeldt from Opeth), Queensryche (“'American Soldier”, весна), Satellite (“Nostalgia”, март), SBB (“Iron Curtain”, конец января), Shadowland, Silhouette (“Moods”), Solstice, Tinyfish, Touchstone and many, many more… Pure Reason Revolution (“Amor Vincit Omnia”, март), Steve Thorne (“Into The Ether”, апрель), ACT ("5th"), Cross (The Thrill of Nothingness”), Dream Theater, Iluzjon - поляки (“Silent Andromeda”), Leap Day (ex-members of Flamborough Head, King Eider, Nice Beavier), Magnum, Mr. So & So. THE GATHERING will release their next studio album in April 2009, called "The West Pole". This band have found a new female vocalist (replacement for Anneke van Giersbergen) and will have two female guest singers on the CD. The album, containing 9 tracks, is produced by René Rutten and will be released on their own Psychonaut Records label. The new PENDRAGON DVD will be called "Concerto Maximo" and should be released during the early months of 2009. The total running time of the DVD is approximately three hours. The main feature was recorded last year, live in Katowice, on their 30th Anniversary Tour. Artwork has been done by Killustration and is based on the Pure concept. Daedalus (“The Never Ending Illusion”), Glacier (“Ashes For The Monarch”), Phideaux (“Number Seven”), Umphrey’s Mc Gee (“The Bottom Half”).

OWL: "Less is More" так будет называться новый, акустический, альбом группы MARILLION. Больше всего меня позабавил факт, что басист Пит Труэвас планирует поиграть на русской балалайке.
OWL: CREEDY - "Privileged Vagabond" (2009). Сольный альбом бас-гитариста английской группы Pilgrym. http://www.myspace.com/creedymusic К сожалению, сам Пилигрим непозволительно долго (в течение пяти лет) колдует над вторым диском. Жду - не дождусь...
OWL: В середине августа выходит альбом PARZIVALS EYE - "Fragments". Сайд-проект басиста группы RPWL. Состав музыкантов: Chris Postl (RPWL), IAN BAIRNSON (ALAN PARSONS PROJECT, Gitarre) CHRISTINA BOTH (MAGENTA, Vox), ALAN REED (PALLAS, Vox) und YOGI LANG (RPWL, Keys).

Since 2000 the Freising-based artrock group has released seven albums, one better than the other, with the last release dating back only one year. Since then “The RPWL Experience“ (that is actually the album title) took another course: Guitarist Kalle Wallner released two albums and now, RPWL bassist Chris Postl launches his first solodisc. . For his ambitious project “Parzival's Eye“ he got support from illustrous musicians, among them the voices of Christina Booth (Magenta) and Alan Reed (Pallas). But the best is yet to come: Alan-Parsons-Project guitarist Ian Bairnson took care of the fiery guitar solos. “I've always loved the Parsons albums, so he is maybe my most-played guitarplayer“, says Postl. “After I had sent him a demo, he agreed immediately to play on the album, so I asked him to listen through all the material and to pick his favourite passages. Never had I expected that he'd pick that many.“ But he could have. Postl's high-quality songs breathe new life into seventies's meloprog in a way that is as original as pristine and destined for a collaboration with the Scottish string specialist. And so it is no wonder that he graced four tracks with his unique playing. The remaining guitar work comes from Postl himself, who also played -besides his main instrument- keys and guitar on “Fragments“, and the renowned studio guitarist Ossi Schaller.
